Face au jihâd, une tradition de non-violence et de tolérance dans l’oeuvre de Cheikh Moussa Kamara (1864-1945) (Mauritanie/Sénégal)

Cette intervention examine les contextes, socio-politiques du texte Aktharu al-Râghibeen Fee al-Jihad Ba’had al-Nabiyyeen rédigé par Cheikh Moussa Kamara (1864-1945). Il a été traduit une première fois par Amar Samb (1976) sous le titre "Condamnation de la guerre sainte". Le but de cette intervention est d’illustrer concrètement les différentes significations de ce texte, son contexte et sa pertinence dans les débats récents qui insèrent le Jihad surtout dans un discours de la violence.

Mbaye Basir Lo is an Assistant Professor of the Practice of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies at Duke University. He is also the co-founding director and current director of Duke in the Arab World academic program.
