Dialogue : “The Color Line”

In October 2016, the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac in Paris will inaugurate The Color Line : Les artistes africains-américains et la ségrégation (October 4, 2016-January 15, 2017), the first major exhibition in France devoted to the visual arts of the African-American community in the United States. This dialogue will feature the exhibition’s curator, French critic Daniel Soutif, in conversation with distinguished American scholar Richard J. Powell, author of titles including Black Art : A Cultural History (1997 & 2002) and Cutting a Figure : Fashioning Black Portraiture (2008).
