Field Grants (CEDEJ Khartoum) - 2021

Call for applications

The French Centre for Economic, Law and Social Studies in Sudan (CEDEJ Khartoum) is seeking applications for the Fieldwork Grants from Master and PhD students who conduct research in the social sciences and humanities in Sudan during the year 2021 (until 31st December).

These grants can be used to cover either transportation costs, accommodation or translation for foreign students or University registration fees in public universities, part of fieldwork cost or thesis finalization (language editing, typing, thesis printing) for Sudanese students. The grant will not exceed 1000,00 euros per fieldwork.

As CEDEJ-Khartoum aims to strengthen the cooperation between Sudanese and French and European universities, research jointly supervised by Sudanese and French or European professors will be paid great attention. Candidates can contact the coordinator of CEDEJ-Khartoum to facilitate the communication with professors in Sudan and abroad. Students who currently do not have a scholarship with CEDEJ have priority.

CEDEJ-Khartoum aims to foster research in general in Sudan and grants may be given to non-priority project proposals when considered well thought and relevant. However, the research must suits explicitly with at least one of our scientific themes of research :
- Governance, public policy, politics
- City, citizenship, migration and urban environments
- Environment, nature and resource management
- History of contemporary Sudan

Deadline : 31 May 2021
